Cameron Highlands weekend-* UPDATED*

* UPDATED 3rd May*

DAY 1

Woke up early last Sat! to set off to another trip down south with Irene(map reader) and ST (driver), this time KN and Star join us too! me, the backseat sleeper, this time i didn't need to strap myself down with the seat belts as there isn;t any room to move anyway!

First stop to Ipoh to get breakfast and egg tarts and tesco ( to get fish balls, meat balls, sausages, beer) before heading up the Simpang Pulai way up! We did a leasurely drive up, winding down the window a couple of times to check the temperature! Haha... we were also planning what to eat up there... of course, i was looking for my favorite jagung and potato! i didn't get this nick for nothing!

Along the way, we saw lots of those old jeeps carrying veges, i was quite amazed at the speed they were going. definitely more powerful than my faithful city! Oh yes, there was this red viva, with modified wheels, wheels so small that it looks like it's almost touching the road as it goes along. It's one of those cars that you can't help that you feel that you need to overtake! (Same urge like you want to cubit the fat face of a baby!) Good thing, i wasn't driving.. i would have been more reckless than ST!

Well, we had tea and our egg tarts in one of the tea house overlooking the tea plantation over the ondulating highlands! Breath-taking scenery, hot tea, and custardy egg tarts! Bliss!

After our tea, we went to get the keys to get to our apartment! We went in and the 4 of us didn't notice the 3rd bed room! Only Irene saw the bed room on our way in. Poor Uncle, was a bit worried, as he couldn't find his room!

Then we were off to do some marketing and of course, i get to eat my jagung! My pearly jagung was sweet and juicy! Yummy! I did the "irritating kid" thing again, pestering for my jagung! Haha.. so was actually savouring every moment!

We went to the Smoke house after that! Smoke house is one of those traditional English black and white timber house, with a English Red telephone to boot! haha.. which reminds me of my red English letter box.. well, that's another story some day!

Dinner was good yummy steamboat with lots of veges of course! Star did most of the work and of course, the meal was really really fulfilling and definitely healthy and hearty! After such a full dinner, of couse, we went out for a stroll, enjoying the cool night breeze! Just wish it is as cool as this in Penang!

We saw lots of big, healthy, splendidly coloured bright flowers. One can imagine all the fresh air, clean water, excellent soil is doing for the flower, will also work wonders on humans.. well, at least slow down the aging process!

UpDates:
let see, we had our breakfast then went out to Smoke house for the 3rd time! Haha.. took somemore pics, then we headed to the temple. On the way there, ( well, our navigator got "pek chek" and told the driver to look at the map himself! haha! Uncle keeps insisting this is Irene's farewell.. I suppose compared to HY, at least she got futher than Batu Ferringghi! oh oh.. I can feel another complain coming...

ANyway, i got to eat my purpleish sweet potatoes! Then we went to look for Robinson Fall, i dun think we found the actual falls, as it was an over 1km walk that non of us were up to it!

Well, then off we went to do more marketing! Boughts lots of jagung! haha and then we went to the bee farm.. Hmm.. planning to stay far away from the bees! then we stoped along the way for a couple more stops and then we headed down to Ipoh somewhat reluctantly with a tinge of sadness that our hols is coming to an end so soon!

All in all, it was a nice cool weekend.

Makan-makan to Ipoh and Kuala Kangsar

Drove down to Ipoh yesterday morning.

Reach Ipoh at about 9:00 am and spent 30 mins circling aroung to search for carpark! by this time, we were famished, as all of us didn't take any breakfast when we left Penang! Finally found one very closeby to the kopitian we wanted to go for Ipoh Kopi and toasted bread with Kaya! Yummy... Forgot to take any pics in our rush! One thing i learn is now only i understand why Ipoh ppl come to penang and order drinks with 1 ketul of ais! Their ketul of Ais is like 4 times the size of penang ais! Hahahaha!

Then we headed to buy egg tarts! and then bought Ipoh biscuits and then Ipoh Pomeloes, where all the leng luis wear Mini skirt. I really cannot understand the idea behind having like 20 shops, all selling the same stuff all grouped together! Can anyone tell me why is that? Well, anyway, i asked ST to stop at a shop with no lenglui as i only wanted to buys some cheap pomelos for my mum which is for me to eat, not that interested in lengluilah. Pity ST, he obliged.

Then we went searching for hotspring, couldn't find it, maybe like Uncle Hor said, Sunway have bought it up! After this, we went searching for another Hotspring cum waterfall which should be near Simpang Pulai that ST was there 10 years ago. Again, couldn't find it. Next, we went searching for Lata Kinjang Falls! Yup, the big falls you see along the NS Expressway! I got a bit bored halfway and started to be the irritating kid like in the Simpsons, by asking" Are we there yet?" constantly! Haha.. Poor ST and Irene has to tolerate me! Well, after a really long drive, we finally arrived at Lata Kinjang Falls! Happy us!

Played in the water for a while.... and ate our egg tart from Ipoh! MMS Ivan to show him where we were. We managed to find some nice rocks to sit on as the water gush down ... Nature's Jaccuzi!

Then we went for lunch, a place called big tree head, 大树头 。Lunch was Ok... lots of deep fried stuff, as seen here in the pics. You can really see the queue here.. actually, whenever you see a jam in Ipoh, you can be sure there's a good eating place nearby!

After lunch, we went to visit ST's mum, 2nd big sis, small sis, niece, nephews, 2nd sis's trading company, 2nd sis big big house! Oh ya, we saw, his poly, his college and later at Kuala Kangsar, we saw his primary school, secondary school, his big bro's house, his Granpa's house, his motorbike, his graduation pic, his big big family pic.... etc.... No visit to Ipoh is complete without visiting a cave or two, so we that's what we did.

Kuala Kangsar - wow, really impressed.. Very nice place! Beautiful bridge, magnificent mosque, and a very grand palace!

Dinner at Kuala Sepetang
Famished.. we ate in utter silence..... only when our stomach were half ful, we manged to talk! Haha! Well, the service was really really really slow. Food was good-lah.. but very cheap!

PS: meant to upload some pics here.. but keeps hanging... will try tomorrow!

PS2: meant to upload more pics, but line at home very slow... will try again tomorrow or the next daylah.

Jeli Hot Spring

Take a look at this hot spring in Kelantan

Well, i tried to google this place, can't really find any official sites that states this place as a tourist destination!

What saddens me is the states of affairs, nice place like this gets neglected! Anyway, they don't even have to look far to see how Japan, Taiwan turn their hot springs in to tourist destination, just learn from Poring Hot Spring is enough-lah. Well, i was at Poring 10 years ago, and that place is clean and nice and well maintained! Don't see it why they can do it in KK and not in Kelantan!
Come on!
