CNY Celebration Penang 2008 戊子年新春大团拜文化庙会
Last night, we celebrated all 12 chinese festivals at 1 go in Penang. How's that's possible, you may ask??? I will load the pictures up to picassa one of these days. Here's a sneak preview. for those who missed the event.

I am sure none of you have row a dragon boat on land before! haha.. The keyword here is on land! A race was organised. I am sure all the participants had lots of fun! Click on the picture to view it full size.
My role was of course - to sell Bak Chang!!! Well, we sold off all our 8 types (福建，广东，海南，客家，潮州，马来，素食） of zongzi by 9pm! The most popular ones were海南 , Sold off by 5:30pm! All the proceeds of this charity sales go towards the Chinese Private Schools of Penang.
Well, i have over 500 pics of this event this year. Thanks to Jun Wei, the budding photographer in the making, he took over 450 of them on our Hui Yin Seh Dragon Boat event, (which is one of the most popular attractions of the day! ( i didn't say this.. The Star did...) not me 卖花赞花香!

HS sms me to let me know my car number won the 1st price in magnum! Only thing is that i didn't buy!
Met up with my cousins from Mum's side, Jason, David and wife (Elaine) and baby (Sarah) , Philip and Tze Mian and baby Anabel! (writing this down. so that i won';t forget the names of babies.. 1 year down the road.
Haha.. Interesting group.. trying to figure how we are related. Drawign the tree out as Jason is actually my second cousin.
3rd Day
Pot luck at TX's house for CNY! Collected lots of ang pow! haha... Lots of ppl there, i had fun! Dewayne cook italian pasta! It was really good! I didn't take any pic though, pity.
Met up with primary school mates. Unbelieavable. Arrived late...so missed quite a few of them. Lee Yen, Shien ( the only torn among the roses), Yuen Yoong, Hooi Lim and Geraldine and Baby was in G Hotel lobby to meet me. Earlier, Gaik Sim, Su Yin and Kher Sin was there. It's was certainly amusing to see the primary school autograph book from Lee Yen. Had a good laugh! Seems like i got friends all over the world still, US, UK, Japan! They says i was very "ye".. Thanks to TT for the "ye" red glasses i think!
They reminded me lot of my old nicknames as well... Unbelivable, even i have forgotten most of them. eg: GKK, jagung, teh-o-ping! haha!

FOOD FAT FOOD FAT FOOD FAT
Season of eating is here....
Started with a lunch treat from Southwest. Fine food at Jade Blossom, We had a full blown 10 course chinese meal, Yee Sang, Sharksfin, Abalone, Hou Si Fatt Choy... had to aer0planne Irene but this lunch.. did feel a bit guilty!
Then TGIF on Monday. Celebrated Irene's birthday...

Traffic Jam and cctv
i have been "pek-chek" the last couple of days since school starts. Yup, due to traffic jams. Too many cars on the road, same old road! Hence bad bad jam! it's getting worse and worse as teh years goes by and what the heck is our government doing? As usual Nothing! THe bridge ppl have been suffering in silence for years... it's still the same old story!
Today, a public hols for many and a working day for a couple of factory workers. Driving to work was breeze.... as free as fast as the wind. :) If driving back and forth to work daily was so relaxing... :) most ppl will be less stressed out when they start their work in the morning!
Missing stuff in the office areas. hmm.. i left 2 pen-drives on our dept secretary table and she didn't receive it. Have lost numerous calculators/food stuff etc.. from Office areas... Hmm.. maybe cctv needed!

Impulsive shopaholic
Well, I sort of turn into an impulsive shopper this last month and my excuse is that this is caused by the stress at work!
Well, I did get myself lots of stuff this last month, let's see, currently i am the proud but broke owner of 1 new harddisk 160GB, 1 new 2GB CF card, 4 new books, 1 pair of new red specs, a new red phone, 4 new clothes from Singapore, 4 new tryes, and 1 expensive neck pillow!
On top of that, i received the notice to pay my maintainence for my apartment... Eeeks.... Dad will help me foot the bill first!
Broke, stressed -out but still sort of happy! :) My Aunty from Australia is coming next week with my yearly supply of Cappucino! :)

Happy 2008!
New year, new beginnings, new resolution!
Spent my day just sleeping. Wake up, breakfast, then back to sleep, then lunch and then you guess it, back to sleep again! that's happiness for me! Peaceful blissful sleep!
My Singapore trip was good, amid the hiccup at the beginning of the trip! Then, the rest went ahead smoothly. All the test passed with great margin.
Singapore is basically a shopping haven. So i bought some new clothes for CNY and also 2 books (of conflicting idelogy - 1 a buddhism book and the 2nd one an atheist book)
Went clubbing in MOS, dance at every dancefloor! including the central revolving one! Haha.. that's was fun, initially, no one dare to dance in the centre. Once we jump onto it, we sort of brought all the crowd with us! Fun fun fun! Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Stress
My rule is not to blog about work. But rules are meant to be broken. This morning, was suppose to carry out some test in Singapore. Shipment from penang didn't arrive yet! Whole day no mood. Initially wanted to go shopping.. butwas in the hotel so that i could make the phone calls and get updated and was studying my PCA in the mean time.
I learnt that even if i get stressed out, the shipment will not have arrive any earlier!
So i am just being stupid for not enjoying my day!
Anyway, FYI. Shipment arrived safely at 5pm! :)

XMAS 07
Watched Golden Compass with TT and CC. Afterthought: I enjoyed it but would like it better if i didn't feel the effect of the north pole so much. Was hugging myself so tightly to keep warm admist the north pole wind and snow! Love Mr. Polar Bear in the movie! He is funny in a dry way!
Went to Chilli's for dinner! Hmmm... the receptionist was so so grumpy! her face was worse than Mr. Scrooge on Xmas day! CC complained that it was too bright... then suddenly the lights went dim, they must have heard him! The salmon was delicious and so was the salad!

3 years on
Yes, 3 years since i came back from Bonny Scotland. Well, litterally the land of freedom and growth for me. Over there, basically, my motto is Try everything once. Haha.. And no, i don't do drugs nor Crime!
Just days with lots of pub, club crawls, parties! It's unbelievable how much alchohol i used to consume... and yes, even for breakfast! It's a wonder i didn't need to join the AA.
it's kind of strange that grey, dull Aberdeen is my favourite place! I suppose over there, we get to appreciate the snow as well the summer sun and the spring flowers much much more... The fresh sea breeze and mountain air all rolled into one and the clear fresh water from the upstream where salmons go spawning and (where water for whiskey making is tapped) .
Kinda missed all my good friends (SF,M, SP, A, J, G, S, A, S) i make over there as well. Wonder how some of you are doing now. It's kinda of a emotional roller coaster to have to made when i took the decision to come home.
Scotland, land of Haggis, Whiskey, Dolphins, Otters, kilts, ceiligh and bagpipes... ... I miss you!

Ipoh Trip
wow.. unbelievable how time flies! and i haven't even touch this blog for so so long. It's kinda refrenshing i have got a new friend who join this blogging community and HS blogs so frequently, that i enjoyed reading his blog so much that i feel i must do something with mine!
Since it was all work for quite some time at HYS, lots of BDC, sort of semi-grand campaign, we needed time to relax and unwind. So that it's not all work and no play!
Spent the whole day in Ipoh. First Stop Gua Tempurung, then Lunch in Kampar, then Gunung Lang,( mini Kui Lin) and then Perak Tong.
Gua tempurung has improved quite a bit since the last time i was there. Well, the road is now a straight road! It's a steep climb. Bringing a group of 40 is much more slow moving then i have predicted. Tiring for some. But it's darker then i remembered. Love the wind Tunnel!
Gunung Lang, an amazingly beautiful place, we went for a serene boat ride. Hmm.. waiting time is long. Should skip this if you are in a hurry! Well, you know me, i am in love with any place with blue sky, white clouds and a bit of green! Haha.. Well, brough peice to my mind.
After we went shopping for some local Ipoh Goodies. was up on the bus babysitting the kids. Wow, the kids these days amazed me! I didn't know so many versions of Guang Liang's song!
Last stop Perak Tong, climb up some steep steps up to somewhere.. Was only up halfway due to time constraint. had a tough time climbing down! Scared the wits out of me. Am i scared of heights or what? I still remember i was so brave up in Macau Tower. Wonder why?

No Sacrifice, No Victory!
The war of the Autobots and Decepticons.
Do we really have to sacrifice to win? At the end of the day, is it all worth it?
I suppose the question is what sort of things are we sacrificing for this thing we call victory?
What is victory?
To have food like the ancient caveman?
To be the richest man in the world like Bill Gates?
To be an enlighten Buddha who no longers cycle about this world of torture?
Well, for me is the process and pursuit of happiness. To be, it is not a question of only what, but also how. I enjoyed winning a game of pool but i also must enjoy the company, the beer, the location, and each shot of how i place the cue ball! Well, actually i am hopeless in this game, missing all the easy shots. But i find lots of happiness playing this game crapily, not too sure about my opponents! But am sure they always have a good laugh, no other reason for them to play such a crappy player like me!
Be happy, be peaceful, be contented. That's victory for me!

Farewell in Batu Ferringhi for our dear HY!
Sorry for not updating, there's still hawaii part II and part III to be updated. Stay tuned. But TT requested this update of our weekend for HY.
Let's see, we went to have our lunch, eating chicken and siew yok rice again! (well, we have been eating chicken for the past 4 days!) Then, we headed up to Ritz, our favorite cake shop! Each of us bought a piece of cakes. To be consumed before ST arrive. Haha...
Well, we arrive at Holiday Inn and checked in. Took ages, the service was so damm slow! Anyway, we got our room and went in to change and jump straight to the pool. The pool was cool, i just paddled here and there as i couldn't swim. we practically had the pool to ourselves until some Angmo join us with their nice big float which makes us really jealous. We wanted the floats too!
After swimming, we went back to our room for a shower. HY was the first! I was guffing down Cheesels when HY burst out saying the glass door in the shower cubicle is broken. Wow..scared me. Luckily what she meant was that the hinge on the door is broken. The door is still intact, thank god. TT, our top marketing woman of course managed to get us an upgrade to a room with view and balcony! Thanks TT!
By the time all of us showered and moved to other room, ST and CC arrive and join us eating our Ritz cake. So much for our plan hatched earlier! Anyway, after that, we went to the ting ting room. we played football, pool, darts and ting ting!
Had dinner and played category 5 after that! Well, i managed to loose big time, now i owe them Ice-cream, Milo Shake, and char koay kak! bah! what a loser! We continued playing till TT and bf left at 1. I went to take a long half bath cum shower. Smelling nice and feeling ready for bed, HY wanted supper! So, we went out for mamak. CC gave us a treat! Thanks CC!
Oh Ya, dreamt of HY complaining about food in penang compared to Butterworth. Haha! So funny. Scared CC ... as he heard someone laughing, well, he shouldn't be, a happy ghost is a friendly ghost anyway!
We spent the next morning playing tai ti and lying on the deck chairs by the beach. Check out the photos in HY, ST friendster. I am too lazy to upload any here. Gtg back to work. :(
HY, will miss you loads when you go to China! how, how, no one to come to ask me to go make tea in the morning, no one to buy tao hu hua for me! :(.... wanna cry already...... wishing you and your LF all best here too and be happy always!
